Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and grew up in an ethnically diverse, multiracial family. Jacqueline's father Elroy Fernandez comes of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Jacqueline is the youngest of two sisters and a brother who is older. Following her 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone made her debut on television as host of a TV show on Sri Lankan businesses called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the child of the badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager she was a badminton player in the national championships, but she ended her career in the sport to become a fashion model. Padukone's native language is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean from her birthplace. Padukone is a village located in Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone has retired as an internationally renowned badminton athlete, while her mother is also a travel agent.
